Green Energy International Limited(GEIL) is the Operator of the Otakikpo Marginal field in OML 11.Incorporated in Nigeria as an integrated energy company in 2006, the company was set up to explore all the opportunities in the oil and gas value chain for the overall benefit of its stakeholders and the Nigerian economy.

Our
Asset

Otakikpo Marginal Field (OMF) lies approximately 60 km South East of Port Harcourt, Rivers State of Nigeria. It is based in the Southern part of SPDC’S OML 11, between the shore to the South and Chevron’s OML51 to the North and about 35 km East of Bonny Crude Export Terminal. The field’s operational base is located at Ikuru town, Andoni local government of Rivers state.
The field was awarded to Green Energy International Ltd, by the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) in February 2011. After obtaining the Ministerial consent in 2014, the company assigned 40% participating interest in the Otakikpo field to Lekoil Oil and Gas Investments Ltd.

Our
Mandate

Our mandate is to create localized domestic markets based on small scale gas opportunities in our local host communities, Nigeria and Africa at large. In 2010, the Federal Government decided to implement a World Bank study on Small Scale Gas Utilization and the Otakikpo Marginal Field was awarded to Green Energy to undertake the pilot project. The implementation of this project will involve the installation of LPG processing and bottling plants. The gas produced would also be used for power generation for Green Energy’s host communities which would be a catalyst for the overall development of the region.

Our company takes a stakeholder approach in engaging with its host communities and this is evident in the cordial relationship enjoyed between the company and its host communities- Ikuru Town and the foursome communities of Asuama, Asuk Oyet, Ayama Ekede and Ugama Ekede. Our company since it’s commencement of operations has focused on positively enhancing the development of its host communities by building the capacity of her members through education, empowerment, employment and other forms of socio-economic interventions.

Green Energy is a fully Nigerian owned and controlled company. Its strong Nigerian profile gives the company advantages in community acceptability and the enjoyment of favorable regulatory incentives. The company has engaged over 80 direct employees who are all Nigerians, with a significant portion of employees, at all levels, drawn from its host communities. Our staff who cut across a wide spectrum of professional backgrounds are the bedrock of our successful operations.
